About Us

Swing For A Cure is a tennis clinic fundraiser for children ages 4-14 which takes place once a year. The clinics are taught by Tom Mercer, USPTA certified coach and nationally ranked junior players including Emma Perelman. Emma's sister, Sara created Swing For A Cure as a community service project 5 years ago to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.  She combined her passion for tennis with her desire to help her newly diagnosed four year old cousin.  Initially intended to take place just once, it was such a success that she continued her fundraising efforts each year, until she left for college.  Sara raised close to $30,000 for this worthwhile cause from sponsorship and enrollment fees.

Clinics last 1 to 1.5 hours depending on age group and cost $30 per child. With Sara gone, Emma has now taken charge of the event and will lead the fifth annual Swing For A Cure. She wants to carry on the tradition and keep this exciting event alive.
